Breaking news,

Today, at a rally in Hell, Michigan, Jesus Christ endorsed John Thune for President...

I've known John since before he was even conceived in the back of that Ford...yes John, you were an accident. Senator Thune is a great man, with a great soul, and we need him to lead this nation forward. While I am not a registered voter, I encourage all of you that are to vote JOHN THUNE for President!

Are you serious?
Making an example of just how ridiculous this has gotten with the endorsements.

On October 10th, Senator Thune withdrew from the race due to health concerns.

At a rally in Iowa, John Thune endorses Mike Gravel for President...

I know I may be upsetting some in my part for doing this, but Mike Gravel is a true American hero. We need him as our next President!!!

Statement from Mayor Bloomberg's Office in New York City
In the past few months, I have been urged by many individuals, Republicans, Independents, and Democrats alike, to consider running for the Presidency in 2008. I love my job as Mayor of New York City, but at the same time, I have become dismayed by how partisanship and silly rhetoric have deteriorated our nation. I am dismayed on President Bush's failed handling of the Iraq war, and I am dismayed by our nation's economic outlook. We need politicians who understand that one side, one ideology, does not have all the answers. We need more moderation and bi-partisanship in Washington D.C. We simply cannot afford four more years of this.

With all that being said, I will be announcing my official decision on whether or not to run for President in the coming days. Please stay tuned!

Mayor Michael Bloomberg holds a press conference at his office in New York City. He is surrounded by his partner, Dianna Taylor. His daughters, Georgina and Emma, are also on stage.

Good afternoon. It's good to be with you today. I'll get right to the main point of this press conference - After prayer and serious deliberation with my family and close friends, I am officially declaring myself a candidate for President of the United States as an Independent!

When this race began months ago, I wouldn't have predicted that I would be standing here to today as a candidate for President. I saw quality candidates on both sides of the aisle, candidates I thought I could support. However, as time progressed, I realize I simply couldn't, as they all are part of the problem with our political system today. In both primaries, this has been a race to the bottom, with campaigns running risky campaign maneuvers and running abrasive, negative campaigns. Our nation has had years of division and bitter partisanship - we simply cannot afford four more years of this.

I'm running in this race as an independent, both in name and in spirit. I have been a Republican in the past as well as a Democrat, and I don't think either party is serious about bringing all of America together to achieve a greater good. As President, I won't be a rubber stamp for a party or a specific ideology - I will be a rubber stamp for the American people, though, as I will always act in their best interest's. We currently have an administration that is waging a war on the American people by shoving down policies that the people just don't support! As President, I will seek to fix that. On day one of a Bloomberg Administration, we will begin to take our nation's first steps towards the winding down of the war in Iraq. We also must maintain fiscal responsibility in America - As Mayor, I turned a large deficit into a $3 billion dollar surplus.

Whether you are a Republican, Democrat, Independent, or something else, if you truly desire change and bi-partisanship in Washington, ditch the statue quo, and vote for a better tomorrow: Vote Mayor Bloomberg to become the forty-fourth President of the United States!

Campaign Plans:
For the month of December, the Bloomberg Campaign will focus primarily on building a strong organization, as well as fundraising, though the Mayor plans to primarily self-fundraise. Beginning January 1st, he will begin a 50-state tour through the United States.

Michael Bloomberg Campaign Schedule: December 10th-16th
December 10th: Mayoral Duties in New York City
December 11th: Mayoral Duties in New York City
December 12th: Mayoral Duties in New York City
December 13th: Mayoral Duties in New York City; Fundraising in New York City
December 14th: Meeting with top advisers at campaign headquarters.
December 15th: Fundraising in Los Angelas, California
December 16th: Resting

At Press Conference in New York City...
Reporter: Mayor Bloomberg, former Speaker Gingrich suggested earlier that as a former Republican, you should have ran in the GOP primary. He also charged, and I quote, "third party challenges might damage our stance in November". What are your thoughts on that statement?
Bloomberg: Well, who is "our"? I'm not running as a part of either party for a reason - they are what has caused much of the mess in D.C. right now. I'm not a Independent Republican, nor am I an Independent Democrat. I'm an American only, that's what I'm running as, and I don't think I'm hurting the American people's chances in November by running.

Statement From the Bloomberg Campaign
We are pleased to announced that Bradley Tusk will be serving as our campaign manager. Mr. Tusk has an extensive record in running campaigns, most notably for his success as campaign manager for Mayor Bloomberg's 2009 re-election campaign. We have full faith in Mr. Tusk to develop a winning campaign strategy for Mayor Bloomberg.

Bradley Tusk, Campaign Manager for Bloomberg for America

We are also pleased to announce that the talented Elizabeth Archuleta will be serving as the campaign spokesperson!

Elizabeth Archuleta will be serving as the campaign spokesperson.
Our campaign would also like to thank Mr. Hagel, Mr. Obama, Mrs. Lincoln, and Mrs. Winfrey on their calls to lower the threshold to enter the debates. Hopefully we won't have to worry about that, though, as we'll be well over that number when debate season begins!

Mayor Michael Bloomberg has released his first radio advertisement, which will be airing in all fifty states (Considering Bloomberg's wealth, I think I have the advantage to be able to do this and say it is realistic):

Radio Ad 1: The Independent

Mayor Bloomberg: How do we bring real reform to Washington D.C.? By putting aside our differences and putting people over politics. Washington needs to stop with the finger pointing and focus on the issues that we were elected for, like fixing our economy, improving jobs, and seeking a peaceful solution in the Middle East. As an Independent, I will take the best ideas from both parties to get things done. There's only one party I work for - Americans.

I'm Michael Bloomberg, and I approve this message.

I'll be seeing the film Lincoln this evening so the update will be a bit later. Thanks for uoyr patience.
Enjoy - I really liked it, though it cast Lincoln in too positive of a light.

Statement from Michael Bloomberg:
I congratulation Senator Hagel, a good friend of mine, as well as Senator Obama on their Iowa Caucus victories. While these are two fine men, these are also men who are party loyalists. Senator Obama has one of the most liberal voting records in the Senate during his very short time in office. This isn't the change we need. We need a Washington D.C. that is bi-partisan and takes good ideas from both Republicans and Democrats, and that is exactly what you will get on day one of a Bloomberg Administration.

Statement from the Bloomberg Campaign:
I congratulate Governor Dean and Senator McCain on their victories in New Hampshire. It's good to see that the Democrats have at least some sort of interest in voting against the status quo. In the past few days, I have been campaigning in Western America, talking with voters from the liberal parts of California to the most conservative parts of Wyoming. Regardless of where I am, I keep hearing the same thing - folks are tired of the status quo, and they are tired of all the partisan politics that we're seeing in Washington D.C. It's time for real, bi-partisan change in Washington, and that is what the Bloomberg campaign is all about!

Mayor Bloomberg Television Ad #1 - An Independent Leader

Scene 1 flashes images of Senator Hillary Clinton, Senator John McCain, Senator Barack Obama, and former Speaker Newt Gingrich
Scene 2 flashes images of Mayor Bloomberg speaking with NYC residents and council members

Narrator: It's hard to find a leader in this country who thinks independently and gets things done. In America, we thankfully have a leader like that. As Mayor, he cut taxes and balanced a budget, improved roads and schools, and focused on an energy plan for our future.
Scene 3 shows Mayor Bloomberg standing in front of park, with kids playing Frisbee in the background
Mayor Bloomberg: Hi, if you're looking for a President who can get things done and shake up Washington, I'm your guy. I'm Michael Bloomberg, and I approve this message.

The ad will be ran in the following states (shown in green):

Hillary Clinton is ending her run and endorsing Governor Howard Dean, my decision comes as I have discovered I will be a mother for the second time.
OOC: Clinton has went through menopause. Adoption would probably be a better excuse. Wink

Mayor Bloomberg thanks Senator Clinton for her long record of public service and wishes her a happy pregnancy.

If you're "serious" about a phony web election, you've got to work on your priorities...you have youth and health- go find a nice girl and have a good time, or go have fun with friends your age- getting worked up about me cracking some jokes on an internet forum shows me your immaturity, not the other way around...
Oh my...

This is something that all of us are doing for fun, but at the same time, we are all making a serious effort at playing it. It isn't appreciated when someone comes into our game and makes a complete mockery of it.

*Sigh*

This is getting unrealistic. At least Bloomberg was actually frequently mentioned and did seriously consider a run. There needs to be a cap on Independent runs, otherwise everyone who didn't win the primary is just going to either take their candidate or pick a new one and run in the General.
