Perry isn't going on trial before election day.  The justice system doesn't move that fast.  So he can't be convicted before election day.

Even if the trial were to occur before November, Perry is not going to be convicted of anything, anyway.  The charges are very weak.  Perry has a right to veto funding for a DA who has shown that she is unfit to serve by getting arrested for DUI.  And that's basically all he is charged of doing.
