Child poverty declined significantly during the Clinton years, which one would not expect if welfare reform were an unmitigated disaster for poor people.  This decline was especially marked for single parent families.


(note the last part of this graph may not be accurate for Atlasia)

Perhaps there are changes to be made but there is enough evidence suggesting it has contributed to reductions in poverty that we shouldn't just get rid of it.

Also we have a Basic Income program now as an option for those who can't access adequate help through TANF and other welfare programs.

Correlation =/= Causation

Couldn't the same be said of evidence supporting TNF's assertions though?

Possibly....Things that happen to the economy are rather hard to prove, hence the various wildly differing schools of thought.

Since we are down a member, I think this only needs five to call 24 hours so I am going to do that.
