Not all the south, Texas is a diverse state.  If all would be liberal people in Texas went out to vote it would be the next California.  But since people don't,  and really don't care about elections much less what is going on in government, the state is branded as a traditional southern state that goes GOP 99% of the time.

Which is why Cuban Hispanics have almost always supported Republicans whether it's Obama or not.  They feel Republicans take a harsher stance to the Cuban gov't.  I still feel not many democrats are united with Obama and he needs Hillary (who is more familiarized with Democrats) to solidify his standing in states like Florida.
