     I was motivated by these from the Election Prediction Contest thread:

Though I would vote for Bacon King each and every time, the Southeast is a hostile place now for those who aren't in DWTL's cabal.

Unfortunately, the RPP machine will cause us to lose one of the better Senators and replace him with an inexperienced candidate with SPC/DWDL-esque views

     Okay, I guess. Kind of an unusual question.

     I could have extended the section where I enumerated the ideological differences between me & DWTL, I guess.

     I'm more decisive when it doesn't have to do with my writing. I usually try to hate what I write, to avoid the temptation to "rest on my laurels."

     Nevertheless, I have some strong feelings about many issues.

     I never said that. I said that I try to hate what I write, to force myself to rise a higher level of excellency. You should trust what I write more because of that.

     It's not only in speeches. I developed that habit in creative writing class. I wanted to consistently put out good stuff, so I took the attitude that the things I wrote sucked, so I'd try harder next time.

     I think that "perfect Senator" is hard enough to define that I won't be trying to do that. I want to serve my constituents faithfully though.

     Okay. I guess I should probably get to sleep soon. I won't though.

     Thank you. I just felt like I should respond to recent attacks by Jas & Sensei suggesting that I am winning just because I parrot DWTL's ideas.

That's not what I said.

     You said that I was in his cabal. The implication is still that I'm his toadie.

     While I agree with the need to publicize the positions of Senators, I prefer that it be done in a way that does not look like an attack by one of their challengers. I would prefer to not be seen as condoning attacks against an esteemed member of the Senate like Bacon King, even if I do disagree with his politics.

     I can't control the actions of others, though I will personally avoid engaging in negative campaigning in most instances, & encourage my compatriots to do the same.

     I prefer that we maintain level heads in political debate. It does nobody any good to resort to petty attacks to get elected.

     I'm not here to serve myself. I'm here to serve my constituency.

Something that most present and past Senators (myself included) failed to do. Nor did it help that the constituents were not entirely sure of, or did not keep up to date with their voting record in the Senate and lobby their Senator accordingly. Something I hope to prompt with the introduction of referenda on Senate legislation (which not only do they vote on, they get to see how their Senator voted)

     Constituencies have a disturbing tendency to be inactive I've noticed.

Which is why it's so important to defend the regions with all our might!

     We probably shouldn't punish the people who are active by eliminating their constituencies.

     I'll use my non-confrontationalness to become the puppet master, manipulating Senate affairs behind the scenes.

     I was thanking you for the compliment. I prefer to just manipulate my colleagues to help the people.

     Actually, not at all. I'm trying to help my constituents by working together with my colleagues.

     Manipulating, working together, it's the same thing really.

     I was talking about my colleagues. I plan to do what I can to get them to act in the interests of the people.
