Abhor is a strong word.  I can't think of anything that I ever abhorred that I now support.

This. There are a few issues I shifted on, but going from abhorrence to actual embrace is a bit of a stretch.

     I've had a hard time here for about the same reason. My priorities have shifted somewhat, but I haven't really changed that hard on anything since I became an adult. I only chose borders because I used to consider open borders a moral imperative and now I recognize that there are practical reasons for controlling who can enter the country.
