April 4, 2023:

Sen. Rick Scott's (R-FL) Announcement speech in St. Petersburg, FL attracts an estimated crowd size of nearly 12,725

(He steps onto the stage, surrounded by close family members)

Ladies and gentlemen, thank you! Thank you, it truly is great to be at home among all of you again today.

*cheers emanate up from the crowd*

And most of all, thank you to Senator Rubio and Governor de Santis for their support, as well as the absolute warmest of introductions. Both of you have made an indelible imprint and unforgettable legacy while working to change Florida for the better over the past many years. Thank you for your tireless work on behalf of this great state and every American who's quickly getting behind our campaign effort!

It is my firm belief that in these turbulent times, we will need a steady hand as Commander in Chief to steer our great nation through troubling waters and return to an America of which we can all be proud. As governor and senator from the great state of Florida, I have a proven track record of appealing across the aisle and uniting both parties around common-sense bipartisan legislation.

In the Senate, I worked closely with President Trump to deliver much-needed tax relief to middle-class families and workers struggling to pay off their bills. I played a major role in co-authoring and sponsoring the popular criminal reform legislation, as well as protecting all Americans' second-amendment rights. Together with Senate Majority Leader, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and others, we effectively cracked down on the caravan of illegal migrants entering this country, while cutting red tape for small businesses to grow and encourage further entrepreneurship.

For too long in this country we have suffered under the shambolic leadership with a bumbling maniac of President Biden, whose age is showing more than ever. Our great nation has reached a crossroads, and the decision we make on which way to move forward will define our future for generations to come and even beyond. Will we turn permanently down this hard-left path of creating a socialist government which stymies all that has made our country great, or embrace a vision of innovation and collaboration going forward?

So it is with great enthusiasm, and boundless optimism for the years to come, that I officially announce my run to be YOUR next President! [applause] But I also understand that will take much hard work, an experienced leader, knowledge and connections, and most of all good policy, to match our highest of hopes.

With my extensive experience both in government as well as the private sector, I believe I am the best prepared and equipped to lead America into its new dawn: defending America's interests abroad, protecting the free market and enterprise from bureaucratic encroachment, and better education for our kids and tomorrow's leaders.

So if you're ready to join this fight, visit rick2024.com and with your help together we will once again embrace all that made our unique country the greatest place to live in the world. The do-nothing swamp creatures in Washington, D.C. can finally learn their lesson: your time is up. And most of all, we will return American society to its most fundamental roots, while encouraging progress and an open, positive outlook that realizes our full potential. Folks, God bless you, and God bless the United States!
