Facebook and Fox News have combined to cause about 50,000 easily-preventable deaths since the vaccine became widely available in April.

If they could just be responsible citizens and join in the chorus of telling people to get the vaccine, instead of actively spreading misinformation and anti-vax propaganda, those lives would have been saved.

I really hate Facebook and I hope Mark Zuckerberg hits a rock and drowns the next time he goes wakeboarding.

Imagine inculpating Facebook and Fox News for your own administration’s ineptitude. Regardless of how you feel about Facebook as a company, they are more than correct to point out that the Biden administration is looking for a scapegoat for their many lack of triumphs, including with vaccines so far.

Facebook is working directly against the administration's goals by actively facilitating the spread of misinformation and propaganda about the vaccine.  They're well aware that this misinformation and propaganda is not only false, but killing people who believe it.  But they refuse to do anything to stop it.  Despite repeatedly making moves in the past to prevent the spread of harmful or dangerous misinformation on their platform.  Facebook is the gun, and anti-vaxxers are pointing it at stupid people and pulling the trigger.  It doesn't have to be this way -- we've seen from Trump's ban that Facebook has enormous power to change the national conversation with a few simple actions -- but for some reason Facebook wants it to be this way.

This is like if some kid was being bullied by a bunch of other kids telling him to kill himself, the parents told Facebook, Facebook refused to do anything to block it, and then the kid did in fact kill himself.  Most of the blame lies with the bullies.  But part of the blame also lies with Facebook, because they had the power to save the kid but let him die.  Facebook understands this, which is why they have an official policy banning people from promoting suicide on the platform.  But with COVID vaccines, Facebook is basically pointing at the parent and saying "don't blame me for your failure to protect your child."
