Man I have to say I'm surprised.  I was definitely expecting him to get off.  I'm too used to police officers killing black men and then being let off by the juries.  Maybe this can be a turning point in a vicious cycle that has been happening for decades in this country, although Rodney King was the first really big national instance.

This is one ten-second clip from six years ago of about eight people.  Using it to generalize about a movement of tens of millions of people six years later is pure hackery.

This never happened.  Some idiots in Portland set a fire within the grounds of a courthouse, they did not commit arson on the courthouse.  The idiots in Portland are antifa and black bloc anarchists using BLM as a shield, they are not actually BLM.  Take it from someone who lives in the PNW -- we all hate them.

Chauvin's mom says she still believes in his innocence

I feel sorry for his mom, nobody wants to believe this of their son.

When I fantasize about committing crimes (as we all do) something that always pops into mind is what my parents would think of me and how crushed they would be.  You devote your life to raising a boy, unconditional love and devotion and effort for decades upon decades, and then you find out he's actually a Derek Chauvin?  That all your life's work amounted to was a monster who murdered another man?  How can you believe that.  How can you accept that.  How can you not cling to any reason to believe it's not true.  I'm not going to bear any negativity towards his mother.

That said, the internet is full of monsters with no empathy and no humanity so I'm sure her life will be miserable for the next few weeks.
