The terminally online are now suggesting that Twitter ratios imply objective truth? That's just straight Orwellian folks.

Extremely hilarious to see Warren allow this story to go through. The Bernie dead-enders can blame CNN all they want, but clearly she could've killed this story if she wanted to, but didn't! Maybe she won't lose support to Mini Mike B and others if this becomes a compelling narrative.

Exciting stuff!

No, it implies people aren't buying it.  Try again.

None of CNN's "sources" were even at the meeting. I'm sure somebody can find Senator Warren and ask her if he literally said this, shouldn't be too hard.

"I just can't remember.  But you know what I do remember?  IT'S SELFIE TIIIIIIME!"

Agree. We need to wait and hear from Warren.

And if she lies and says he did... watch out.

lol drama.

Everyone on BOTHSIDES should take a step back and remember that the only people who are paying attention to this or care about this are high information voters who make up their own minds regardless. The great majority of voters (including primary voters) are not paying attention and don't care.

We're 24 hours away from the last debate before Iowa, which will play an outsized role in defining media coverage going into Iowa.  If these stories drive attacks on Sanders that he's not capable of defending against, it will be a negative storyline for him that could drive movement.  If the coverage leads Warren voters to perceive Sanders as an asshole, they may not come over to his side at the caucus.

Sanders' defense that "this is the work of my staff and I have nothing to do with it" is both lame and unbelievable.  First of all, the buck stops with you, if you can't control your senior and most publicly visible campaign staff you have no business being president.  But secondly, these kinds of attacks have been a feature of the Bernie movement for five years now and spanned several staff shakeups.  We know Sanders is personally behind it.  It's also the kind of crap he pulled during several of his Vermont campaigns, including his famous victory in the Burlington mayoral race.

Uhhhh... "I never said this."

Done.  I sure do hope they hire me after solving this delicate calculation.

"Let me leak this incendiary garbage to the press because I want to paint my opponent as a sexist but no, no, no Bernie is a wonderful friend and ally and I don't want to comment on our private conversation."

Pathetic stuff, Liz.

Look at all the people willing to accuse Warren of making up some rando bizzare statement with no evidence whatsoever. She would NEVER do that. If she said that's what happened, that's what happened. This is, at best, a misunderstanding. At worst? It's a lie knowing that if it is denied, it will devolve into a he-said-she said where "she" never wins, and there will never be any proof one way or the other. Very disappointing.

Beet, we have literal footage of Bernie Sanders saying the opposite over the years.  Liz Warren went around saying she's a Native American.  I can infer things about her proclivity towards embellishment from her words and her actions in the same way I can infer Bernie's proclivity towards honesty from everything we know, have seen, and have heard from him.  This is not difficult.

Because politicians never say things in private that they wouldn't dare say in public?

Stop being deliberately obtuse.  This is not a case of Sanders saying something in private he wouldn't say in public.  This is a case of Sanders saying the exact opposite, unprompted, repeatedly over the years... of what he's accused of today by someone with a known history of stretching the truth and embellishing for political gain.

Get real, folks.  You think it's true because you desperately want it to be.  Sad stuff all around today.

It is obviously political poison (both now and decades ago for that matter) for a politician to say publicly that they don't think a woman is electable to the presidency.  If they believe that, then of course they're going to say the opposite in public.  I'm agnostic as to whether Sanders or Warren is telling the truth, but "He said the opposite in public!" is an absurd argument in this case.

Un-prompt-ed, Morden... jesus.  This is not a case of Sanders covering his tracks when asked.  It's a political rival making an accusation that is not just unproven, but completely out of character.

When you are going to make the accusation, especially one like this, the burden is on the accuser; not on the accused to present proof that he didn't say it.  You're acting like both sides are equal absent of evidence.  No dude, not by a long shot.  Especially when it's so easy to look at their records and point to one of them being far more full of sh**t than the other.

Yes because what a politician says in public with nothing at stake is a great indicator of what they'll say in private to a potential opponent for the presidency right before the start of the primaries. Bernie Sanders said just yesterday that "no one will be trashing Warren" while on the same day his Comms. Director trashed her on twitter. I can infer unfavorable things about his proclivity towards being lose with words in the same way I can infer Warren's proclivity towards honesty from the grilling she's been through and the weak sauce produced. This is not difficult.

That's two in a row you just copy-pasted what you were responding to and switched a few words around in a vain attempt at proof by contradiction.  Would you like to give it a real go?

I am out of the loop about the Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren conflict going on right now. Could someone please summarize to me what is going on between the two candidates and what the fuss is all about? Thank you in advance Smiley

Liz Warren is in desperation mode.  That about sums it up.

Warren has a long history of twisting reality to her advantage. It's no coincidence that this falsehood emerges in a moment of desperation. Only a fool would believe her.

She chose her ego over the movement. Now the movement is in serious, serious danger because of her betrayal.

How does the press report regarding a closed door meeting between her & Bernie 1 day before the Iowa Debate? How?

No1 knows about this story. Bernie calls it flat out false. His campaign manager calls it an outrageous lie & asks Warren to denounce it. If this was true, why was this story not told a year back? Why is this "Fake" story being leaked 1 day before the Iowa Debate.

Why is this coincidental with Warren's push to win more female voters & his push against Bernie? This is taking politics to the sewer.

Answer Shadows' questions, cowards!

WaPo has an article with insider knowledge saying Sanders didn't say anything about a woman being unable to beat Trump but that Trump would use misogyny & sexism against Trump.

Should Warren apologize publicly? She should apologize publicly IMO for fabricating another story like she did with her Native American Heritage "My momma told me" & used that while applying for jobs.

She can stay in the race & divide the progressive vote & help Biden win but atleast she should have the dignity to say that she lied & used a cheap campaign tactic. This is beyond the 2020 race now or about campaigns & is about a good man being smeared. Let Biden win but Warren should apologize.

Bravo!

You forgot the 30 year record of saying literally everything else.

Oh you mean that one video from the 1980s?

Isn't it funny how this story drops and literally within the hour the Sanders campaign is pushing out an obscure video of him talking to children nearly 40 years ago?

Really crack investigative team they've got there, right?  To go dig up an obscure video clip from 40 years ago in under an hour.  Or maybe Sanders just has an incredible memory and can recall individual lines from a speech he gave to children in the 80s?

Or maybe, just maybe, they knew this attack was coming and had time to prepare that clip as their retort.  Wonder why they would foresee this attack if the story is a lie, though.  Hmmmm.

That interview has been floating around since 2015.

Proud Trump supporter here (in case any of you might not be aware). I'm thinking of voting for Bernie in the New York primary to #StickItToTheEstablishment. Should I?

Please do!
