Official Statement from Senator Kennedy:

Ladies and Gentlemen, a grave and unfounded accusation has been made against my reputation. I am denying all the charges of sexual harrassment. I have long respected those who work for me and continue to.

I am sad that this case has been brought against me as I am always one to stand up against those who sexually harrass women.

I am sorry to see something like this coming from a former employee but hold no grudge against them, whatever the outcome of the case.

I would like for all questions to be directed to my lawyer, the owner of Kennedy House Chambers. Sen. John F. Kennedy, in other words, all questions should be addressed to me.

Thank you for your time ladies and gentlemen.

Well, I do that for two reasons.  One is the comic effect, but the other is to reduce the risk that some idiot might think these are real news stories. Sad

LOL, one of my thoughts was that it was possible you were trying to avoid being sued for using a copyright without permission Wink.

Ernest, could you write a story about Puerto Rican's response to the failure of the statehood act?  Maybe one from each side?

He already had a story of both sides opposing it, the anti-statehoods because they don't want to be a state, the pro-statehoods because they were lumped with the Virgin Islands and Navassa Island and also because they wanted a referendum.

[shuffles through newspaper---rustle--rustle--]

I wonder...my lawsuit not in the papers yet?  I need to hire a more theatrical firm...in what section would I look anyway?  Wait--under the comics, what's that one?

A better law firm? Check in with Kennedy House Chambers, you'll find our thread a few pages back (probably about ten actually, maybe a bit more).

Defense Budget Under Strain
(Routers) Alexandria, VA
Senior Defense Department officals have indicated that the Department may have to seek a supplemental appropriation soon.  They indicated that preparations made to deal with the situation in Sudan have placed a strain in operational budgets that have already caused delays in the reactvation of the 24th Division as a Regular Army division and threaten to reduce the level of training in non-deployed unit if the shortfall is not soon redressed.

As soon as the Senate is done with important thing like passing their second anti-abortion bill in a month, I'd like action on whether or not they authorize use of force in Sudan and whether they will approve the supplemental appropriation.

Would the Secretary of Defence like me to call a vote upon the authorization of usage of force in Sudan?

Yes, I'd like a vote on Sudan and a vote to approve supplemental appropriations.  They could easily be put into the same bill.  I'll have some DoD lawyers write one up and then e-mail it to you.

Thank you Sec. Ford, as soon as I receive your e-mail I will post it up and commence debate, hopefully we can have it passed within two weeks (one week debate, one week vote).

Actually, I started a debate thread a long time ago.  I think we're ready to vote.

Okey dokey.
