It was certainly possible that another Democrat might have lost, but Wilson was acceptable enough to both conservative & progressive and also to urban & rural wings of the party that he was going to be hard to beat with Republicans divided.

With Wilson himself? Probably not. If Debs wasn't in the mix I could see it happening for Roosevelt but Taft was DOA.

Whether Wilson or TR would have benefited more from Debs not being in the race is an interesting question.
