4 years of hell and 400,000 deaths later, safe to say this take aged like milk:

Country music fans are taking the news of Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw playing at the inauguration really well:

I will be slightly disappointed if Biden doesn’t start his speech with “My fellow Americans, our long national nightmare is over.”

I mean I know he’s not going to, but I will still be disappointed.

That would be a callous thing to say when we know the pandemic is going to last for at least 6 more months (and other catastrophic effects of this presidency will be with us much longer still).

Yeah but the country wasn't exactly out of the woods yet in all regards when Ford said that either. It would just be referring to Trump being gone.

But yeah, again, obviously he's not going to say it.

I expect 'Biden neo-lib shill for pushing $15 minimum wage' takes by next week.

Literally hasn't even taken office yet and already NYT is running hit pieces about his use of an exercise bike while never satisfied internet lefties are creating false dichotomies between Biden posting pictures of his dog and healthcare reform.

The more things change...

CNN is lying about Trump being the first president since the 1800's not to attend his successor's inauguration.

McKinley, FDR, and Kennedy didn't either.

Too soon!

1. So we all agree that if Trump won, he would have ignored public health guidelines and tried to get as big a crowd as possible, right?

2. I think this crowd will STILL be bigger than Trump’s!

His departure as president, set to YMCA, was fairly surreal. It felt more like a scene from an Adam McKay movie than real life. I mean, it was 100% the kind of thing he did in Vice, or the Big Short.

Adam McKay is going to have a field day with this one. I don’t even know where he would begin though.

I keep forgetting Dan Quayle exists until he shows up to one of these things and I briefly remember “Oh yeah, Dan Quayle was a thing” before he immediately fades from my memory again.

With Donald Trump not attending, Dan Quayle is again the dumbest person on the stage.

He's really lucky that Republicans who came to the White House after him blew his, er, record out of the water.

Hell, even another Republican VP candidate (Palin) eclipsed him. I have a feeling I (who am way more tuned into politics and history than the vast majority of Americans) am not alone in constantly forgetting Dan Quayle was ever Vice President. I have to consciously try to remember it, never do I just think about Dan Quayle. He’s probably the most forgotten former candidate on a major ticket in the past 30 years.

Someone who actually respects the troops, understands sacrifice and service for your country, is Commander-in-Chief again. Not Mr. “Suckers and Losers,” talks tough but too cowardly to do anything.

Feels good.

If I were Melania, I’d divorce Trump, break whatever prenup/NDA I had to write a tell-all that will sell so many copies it will easily cover all my legal fees and then some.

Would be cool if Biden brought back the “Buck Stops Here” sign like Jimmy Carter did.

Did Biden change the rug? If I recall Trump had a tan one (might've been the same one W and Obama used). The one in the pic looks like the Clinton one.

It's definitely not the Trump rug, yeah.

It is the Clinton one, so are the drapes.
