Overall a very successful night one. The virtual format actually seems to be overall a plus: Everything can be recorded ahead of time, then more tightly scheduled and presented in a format that can hold viewers’ attention in a 2 hour primetime slot. Also allows messaging to stay on-point.

Bernie had a great speech, I’ll admit it. He said exactly what he needed to say and I hope it reached some of his holdout supporters.

Kasich being there on the same night as Bernie was good because it showed Big Tent unity. Also, the subsequent montage of white suburbanite ex-Republicans (many in swing states) was perhaps the most underrated part of the night because guess what? Those are the voters that are gonna win the election for is.

And Michelle’s speech was EXCELLENT. She returned to “go high,” but clarified that doesn’t mean “play nice.” She called out Trump and the GOP’s voter suppression dirty tricks and encouraged people to vote but not throw their votes away. Her message was blunt and needed to be said, but the speech was warmly and impeccably delivered. Just perfect.

Who would have guessed ten years ago that an entire prime time lineup for the 2020 DNC would include the architects of the Iraq War and a tribute to John McCain haha

Who would've guessed ten years ago that 99% of Republican elected officials would become Donald Trump's bitches?

I don’t understand. You’re apparently an R-MS Never Trumper who supported Bloomberg. I would have thought you would have applauded that ex-Bush/McCain supporters are endorsing Biden. Yet your criticisms sound indistinguishable from far leftist criticisms.

Trying to be clever when engaging with people who enjoy political conventions is a waste of material.

You are on a site full to the brim with political junkies who enjoy obsessively analyzing political polls, trends, maps, and returns down to the county if not precinct level. And in a thread on said site discussing a live political convention. You have posted over 5000 times here. Yet you think you are somehow above those who enjoy watching these conventions?

I can't believe we went from someone as incredible as Obama to this orange clown

It’s a pendulum. Bush was a redneck idiot who couldn’t string a sentence together and only got anywhere because of his family name. We elected his total opposite, an incredibly smart and eloquent, well-spoken black man who earned his success. Now in reaction we’ve got a racist idiot even more incoherent than Bush and even less deserving of his “success.”

Let us go ahead and eulogize Donald Trump’s presidency now, shall we?

“Let us never speak of it again, under penalty of torture.”

That about does it, don’t you think?
