Based on Biden's current performance and how he nearly lost the Democratic primary and especially given his poor debate performances.
Biden isn't a strong enough candidate to win by himself -- he still needs a big assist from a flailing Donald Trump.

Biden’s current performance? What? You mean how he’s winning by 9-10 points on average with over 50%, more in some of the higher quality polls, along with nearly every swing state? I don’t see much to complain about in Biden’s current performance.

He nearly lost the Democratic primary? News to me. Last I checked he had a majority of votes, an overall 23 point lead over his nearest runner-up who dropped out and endorsed him months ago (earlier than he did in 2016, when Hillary won by less). He also swept every county in critical swing states (including some Hillary lost) like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Florida, and had pretty much taken an insurmountable delegate lead after Super Tuesday. The primary was not close. At all.

Poor debate performances? He won his only one-on-one debate performance against Bernie. In earlier debates with the crowded field he was generally rated by voters as doing fine and they at least had no apparent negative impact on his support. He also easily won his previous VP general election debates against Palin and Ryan, and Trump lost all three of his general election debates. Given Biden’s clear strengths as a one-on-one debater and Trump’s clear weaknesses as the same, I don’t see how this is something to worry about at all.

I don’t know what world the idiot who wrote this article lives in, but it doesn’t bear the slightest resemblance to objective reality. CNN should be embarrassed for publishing this drivel.
