I've drawn the nations for each player:

France - Dead0man
Russia - Silent Hunter
Italy - Lewis (sorry, mate).
Germany - Lunar
Austria-Hungary - Verin
Turkey - Jas
England - Gustaf

Moves will be required by next Friday evening (your time).

I suspect Kiel should likewise be coloured green on that map.

I was thinking about that. Kiel is listed alongside Constantinople in the rulebook, so I based my comment on that. Sweden and Denmark are listed alongside each other, so Sweden should be coloured the same as Denmark, although I think for clarity, both should be coloured differently to Kiel and Constantinople.

Yet anyone who was to seriously attempt to use that map would instantly have no friends, so I think it's ok.

What do you mean? I was planning on using that map as the one I use to update weekly moves this time...

During the last game, he sent me a PM apologising for not lodging orders and that he'd be enjoy participating in a future game. I PM'd him prior to this game to see if he was still interested and he responded to my PM. I also PM'd him after drawing the nations, but haven't heard back from him since.

Jas's suggestion of defering the opening moves is prudent. I'll PM him again and if I hear from him tonight, I'll adjudicate moves this week. If I don't hear from him, Gustaf was the next in line and can take over from him.

I think whether he is running or the country or Gustaf is is extremely relevant to my moves.

Especially because I've messaged Gustaf about a theory involving my possible opening moves.

Okay - that's important to note. In that case Mikado is next.

Okay, I haven't heard from HappyWarrior, including to a PM I sent asking him what's going on, so Gustaf, you're taking over from him, if you're up for it. I've corrected the opening post to reflect this change.

If people are comfortable with submitting orders in the next 24 hours, I'm happy to adjudicate then. If you need more time to negotiate with Gustaf, I'll defer for the week. Let me know.

lol. There was early speculation that Mr. London/Essex was a Xahar sock, but upon further investigation, it appears he is actually a sock puppet for Happy Warrior.

Happy PM'd me and apologised. He's been caught up with some stuff outside the Forum.

Hey I'm going to Spain on Friday night for a week.  I won't be back until Saturday night/Sunday morning PST.

Thus:
1) Anyone who wants to diplomacize with me should do so by Friday afternoon, California time.
2) I'll need a stand-in or a slight delay...

Hey, congratulations! That sounds like fun!

If you can find someone to step in for you (Mikado, perhaps?) that's fine by me. If you need a week's break - such things have happened in the past and I'm sure no one would have a problem with it.

I don't think I'd need a whole week off without a stand-in.  Just until like Monday or Tuesday or something.

If you're able to do some negotiations in that time, I'm happy to push it back by a couple of days.

I don't necessarily want to have a precedent of delays and stuff, I haven't been part of one of these games from the beginning, so I don't know the standard operating procedure.

Precedent? Erc was in a similar spot at a similar stage in the game.

So from reading this - you'll be leaving after submitting Spring 1902 orders, and returning and needing a day or two to observe the conclusion of Spring and negotiate and submit Autumn 1902, probably an additional day to handle retreats and builds. If you are back Saturday night, it would be evening Sunday for me and possibly earlier than some other times I've adjudicated. If I push it back an extra day from there and adjudicate Monday evening when I get home from work, that will give you all day Sunday (your time) to handle negotiations and submit orders. Things might be still a little tight, but that would hopefully do it, I can play it a little by ear if necessary. Then Tuesday for builds/retreats (my time) leaving still about four or five days for Spring 1903.

How's that sound?

ok.  Hopefully no one submits builds before I convince them about how swell my ideas are, but that sounds more than acceptable.

I'd have to push the deadline back for everyone. Wouldn't make sense, otherwise.

Yes - I've pushed back the deadline to Monday night my time, which would probably be latish on Sunday in the US. Generally speaking, only our Californian and other West Coast posters are still online at that time, so if you have them in on Sunday your time, you should be right. Lunar is expected back Sunday morning at the latest, leaving most of the day available for negotiations.

I'm not back fully online until Tuesday, actually.

Alright, well in that case it's probably best to push the deadline back a week to make sure everyone's back and able to negotiate. Makes it a little bit less confusing as to when people need things in.
