Biden's basically pouring gasoline on himself. Does he even want to be President at this point?

This is the worst week of his campaign and it's only Wednesday.

He looks old. He's what, 76? He's an old 76. I've seen people at the same age look a lot better. Trump and Reagan for instance or even people in real life....

He clearly looks healthier than Trump, whether that equals looking "better" overall or not.

Trump is extremely fat, which isn't a "healthy" look obviously but arguably it looks better on the elderly because it prevents him from looking gaunt and dangerously thin like Biden looks. Biden's starting to look a bit skeletal. Trump will never, ever look skeletal.

New megathread split from old one because it was getting to 2,000 posts.

Aww, thanks for making the first post of this new thread one of the ones where I actually look prescient.

(Thank you will be retroactively withdrawn if Biden surges again)

Read the tweet from an "Independant" journalist, please.

Brazil Huh Mali Huh Paraguay Huh

Bizarre !!!

I think that technically the US provided some assistance to the French campaign in Mali in 2012.

Brazil and Paraguay are a big Huh for me, though.

www.mediaite.com/election-2020/huh-in-iowa-speech-biden-confusingly-says-americans-choose-truth-over-facts/

Quote
Presidential frontrunner Joe Biden said “we choose truth over facts” in a confusing gaffe that closed out a speech in Iowa today.

Very debatable he could make it through his first year as president, tbh.

I'm looking forward to him ordering a bombing run on the wrong country ending in -stan.

Expect more of this from the GOP, especially Trump if Biden is the nominee:

Yep, people forget how effective the health conspiracies were against Hillary. I think it mattered even more than her emails.

It worked on my dad. He said he would no longer vote for Clinton because he doesn't think we should have a President "with an expiration date."

We all have "expiration dates."

Are you saying that...

As much as I love that post, I feel it's getting a bit past its sell by date.

In recent years, Iowa picks the Dem winner while New Hampshire picks the GOP winner. Iowa has called the Dem winner in every competitive cycle after 1992.

What?

Biden is in the upper 20s and you think he's Jeb!?!

As I said in the other thread, Kamala Harris is Jeb! Candidate with tons of elite backing who lands with an absolute thud with voters and shrinks into the low single digits within months of the start of the campaign.

Note that here, on this date in 2016, the candidate in FIFTH PLACE was Jeb! By November/December, no more than an asterisk was Jeb! Joe Biden is still tied for first place in the upper 20s, in what seems more and more like a two way race between him and Warren. He isn't completely out of it like Jeb!

Note that at no point the entire cycle was the RCP average over 20 for Jeb! Biden has never been below 20.

Biden now the only major Dem candidate not calling for legalization of pot. Even Kamala Harris is for legalization.

Biden wants more research done on marijuana impact before legalizing it at the federal level, which would force all states to legalize it.

This isn't true at all, btw. States absolutely can ban things allowed federally. Mississippi kept Prohibition going over 30 years after the 21st Amendment.

Depends whether he ties it to block grants, which is basically what people mean by federal legalization these days.

No...Huh

Most people who talk about federal legalization are meaning descheduling it (not lowering it to a lower schedule, but descheduling completely) and making it no longer a controlled substance. States would be welcome to continue individually banning it or making rules regarding its use if they chose, or not if they didn't choose.

I think Biden is probably the likeliest of the leaders to outperform in primaries but underperform in caucuses (possibly significantly) much like Clinton in 2016

Could we please make it a rule that if anyone mentions caucuses, they have to also mention that IA, NV, and WY are the only caucuses this cycle?

Bloomberg would have the money to sweep the South. That's why he made his entry too late

If there's one thing black Southerners (or white Southern Democrats, for that matter) will love, it's a billionaire Jew from New York City who instituted an overtly and openly racist policy of police harassment and tried to ban guns and sodas.
