This is not a terribly workable bill, unfortunately, and section 2(b) has a lot to do with that. A reminder that this was previously struck from the legislation queue on grounds of impracticality. All that said, I am obviously open to amending this if that is at all possible.

2(a) seems as if it basically guarantees some level of monetary child support aside from the obvious incentive of $$. Don't we have plenty of legislation on the books that covers that already?

This was originally a meme but I introduced this in the hopes it might spark a discussion. Because I'm not against a policy like this at all. Obviously a million is a pretty hefty sum but it's possible a smaller sum could be feasible. I'd have to check the existing legislation in case we have something like this already.

I have a vague recollection of Spark introducing something similar in one of his childcare bills, though a) that may have been on the regional level and b) not all of them were signed into law. Will have to go check on that as well.

I believe this vote needs to be closed.
