No, because Nietzsche has already killed God.
In all seriousness: no, absolutely not, and the suggestion that God and religion will be “hurt” or “killed” just because presidential election number fifty-whatever results in an outcome Trump doesn’t like is pure unadulterated ox’s dung to this Christian and to most of the Christians I know. (Conveniently, it also ignores the hundreds of millions of non-American Christians who will apparently just… no longer have a religion because America held an election??) Obviously the Democratic Party has voiced support for some policies that aren’t consistent with a Christlike worldview and that Christians cannot in all good conscience support. But so has the Republican Party! For one’s identity as a Christian to be fully bound up in the fate of a political movement or figurehead is really, really at odds with the entirety of the Church’s history. It makes a mockery of the Biblical injunction to “put not your trust in princes.”
Frankly, for Trump or anyone else to even hint that politics has the power to negate anything God can do would be verging on the blasphemous, and anyone applauding or encouraging such comments from the President of the United States should be ashamed of the example they’re setting for other Christians – assuming they are still capable of being ashamed.
