Well North Korea is the exception for totalitarian socialists. I despise all communists in the breed of Stalin but never before have they been so screwed up as North Korea.

I'd rather live in the Soviet Union than Saudi Arabia.

It wasn't always easy to leave the USSR, it's pretty easy to leave Saudi Arabia.  If I was forced to stay in either, sure, I'd pick the USSR.  But in the real world, I'd still go with SA for no other reason than I can leave it.  Keeping people locked in your country is one of the worst things a nation can do short of actual physical harm or individual restraining.  I'd rather pay 90% taxes and have the ability to leave than pay 10% and not have it.  It's more important than religious rights or speech rights.  It even beats gun rights.

Yeah, you probably don't want to be a woman, a Jew or an atheist in SA.  And you don't want to be Japanese in N.K.  Well, you really don't want to be anybody in NK unless you are a high ranking Commie.
