and Dr.Strangelove gets my vote too.


I was kind of into him for awhile.  I've seen all the important movies by him, though I need to watch a Spartacas and Lolita again as I was doing other things for good chunks of both of them.  I could say the same about Barry Lyndon, but I don't want to Smiley.  The Killing is great and underrated.  His top 10 are some of the greatest things put to film....maybe not great for all 10, but very influential.  At worst he's one of the top 5 directors of the second half of the twentieth century (and that's a strong list).
