Deeds is dominating Arlington with 3/52 precincts in. That's not good news for the other two.

324 precints:

Deeds - 20,797 (53%)
McAuliffe - 9,289 (24%)
Moran - 9,183 (23%)

Much too early to call, since we've still got the urban areas.

On the other hand, Deeds won Chesterfield County handily -- a county that's 1/3 black. McAuliffe needs black voters to win.

Okay, now I'm ready to say... It's over. Deeds wins.

Anyone looked at the numbers for the SW counties? Some are over 95% Deeds.

Not surprising. Check out the Lt. Governor primary results from 2005:

https://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/state.php?year=2005&off=6&elect=1&fips=51&f=0

Phil Puckett was the SWVA candidate.

Anyway, no sweep for Deeds; McAuliffe took Greensville County (where Deeds actually came third). That's one of the black-majority counties.

McAuliffe also won Amelia, Tazwell, and Wise Counties, and Norton City. He's currently winning Hampton and Newport News as well.

Moran won Alexandria and is winning Petersburg.

Everything else is Deeds Country right now.

77% in:

Deeds - 110,133 (49.9%)
McAuliffe - 58,243 (26.4%)
Moran - 52,203 (23.7%)

Deeds just pulled ahead in the 8th.

Worst raw vote performance:

Moran got 3 votes in Highland County, or 0.72%.

Worst percentage:

Moran, again, this time in Deeds' home of Bath. 0.6%.

I guess to Lee County, Deeds is a Northerner?

Lee:

Bath:

Yeah, I believe it's the county you have to go into Tennessee to get to.

Whassup with Wise County deep in the heart of the SW going for McCaulliffe? Deep Clinton affinity from old time coal-mining culture Democrats?

I seriously cannot figure out the Wise County thing. It can't be the Clinton connection, since Deeds blew McAuliffe out of the water in the rest of the 9th district. Best I can figure is the extremely low turnout in extreme SWVA (2% in Wise, specifically) caused some funky results.
