Biden certainly represents the past, but I see no evidence of him struggling or failing, at least not yet.

Quote
VIDEO: Rep. John Lewis with a powerful defense of @JoeBiden: "I don't think the remarks are offensive. During the height of the civil rights movement we worked with people and got to know people that were members of the klan...We never gave up on our fellow human being..."

Worst case scenario for anti-Biden people is this flap turns into another example of woke white liberals projecting their own feelings onto African Americans and it strengthen's Biden support with them.

Best case scenario for them is that this turns into a generational split among African Americans.

I would agree, if Biden was actually pushing for civil rights back then, but clearly he wasn't.

He looks old. He's what, 76? He's an old 76. I've seen people at the same age look a lot better. Trump and Reagan for instance or even people in real life....

He clearly looks healthier than Trump, whether that equals looking "better" overall or not.

Biden has had a history of saying racially insensitive remarks, who cares about his vote, and he isnt going to be the nominee, as you think he has.

All I know is that it's sad that, in lieu of actually admitting you were wrong, you pivot to "wElL wHo CaReS aBoUt HiS vOtE, wHaT aBoUt AlL tHiS StUfF" instead of just acknowledging that you said something that wasn't factually correct.

When you go around saying a segregationist is the way you move legislation, saying Obama is clean black man that got ahead, and saying Brown skinned people work at 7 eleven, and DEL is a slave state, Biden doesnt deserve the nomination.

Alan J.Dixon, who was IL most prestigious Senator, lost, in my home state of IL, due to his vote for Clarence Thomas, that's why Simon refused to even vote in committee for a favorable recommendation for Thomas.

Obviously, Biden was hurt by his vote, he still apologized for to Hill, 20 yrs later.

Ignoring the fact that that's some massive taking of those remarks out of context (for example, he didn't praise a segregationist; he said that, sometimes in Congress, one has to work with terrible or downright racist colleagues to get things done, & then he went on to say that, when you can't work with them, you work around them), how can one claim that Simon refused to vote for Thomas because Dixon had lost when Dixon didn't lose until 5 months after Thomas was confirmed?? Did Paul Simon, of all people, master time travel technology? Did he have a DeLorean? A TARDIS? A quantum tunnel & time-space GPS? I'd love to know.

Bro, are you seriously having a heated argument with olowakandi?

I don't think this performance will seriously hurt his campaign, but it probably won't help him much either.

Kamala Harris is objectively not African American, ethnically or culturally. African American is a very well defined ethnic group. She is not in it. She is Black, of African descent, and an American but she is not African American. Furthermore, her experience is very removed from African American culture. Same as Obama. Republicans will probably nominate an actual African American before the Democrats ever do.

I love it when racist white dudes think they can say whether someone is really black or not. as Del Tachi said, you're disgusting.

Actually the more I think about the busing thing, the funnier it is.

Kamala Harris was literally tearing up at the thought that Joe Biden would make her go to a majority Black segregated school, rather than allow her to travel an extra hour every day to go to a white integrated school.

and that's supposed to prove HE is racist.

FTFY.

There were were no schools that were Blacks only or whites only when Kamala Harris was a student. There were schools that happened to have almost all Black students because they served mostly Black neighborhoods and schools that happened to be almost all white because they served mostly white neighborhoods. Just like today.

Am I objectively not white because I grew up in a heavily non-white area and have a black girlfriend, even though I'm of English descent and look pasty as hell?

What you're saying makes no sense, and it also ironically shows that race really is a social construct, if you can say someone who is clearly a black American isn't an African American because of her upbringing or whatever you're even saying.

As usual SJW are out of touch with actual voters

Why not wait until some actual votes are cast before making such a declaration?

I feel like Joe is way more vulnerable on abortion than on the busing stuff which is totally irrelevant today. He's literally on record trashing Roe and calling abortion a tragedy in addition to voting for the Hyde Amendment. That would've been far more salient than some issue that mattered 40 years ago.

If he is in the July debate with Gillibrand, I can just see her pulling a Harris on him over Hyde. I expect a lot more confrontation in future debates, in general. It's a tactic that has been working to the favor of the instigator so far.
I highly doubt Gillibrand will make it to the July debate.

Yep, we can start a largely pointless war that maims and displaces thousands upon thousands of civilians but we have no obligation to help those people when the war's over. God Bless America!

Going after Obama is silly. He's the most beloved figure within the Democratic Party (for a good reason).

It's not silly, he was a pretty bad President if you actually look at what he did and not just at the hype and rhetoric.
