GOP people in Alabama would be waiting for a likely Shelby retirement in 2016 to get in a primary against an incumbent.
I think that Daniel Boman would be an interesting candidate for governorship.
Boman is a disgusting candidate. He spread rumors about Aderholt being gay in the AL-04 race in 2012. It's bad enough when Republicans do that but worse when Democrats do. I mean I know it's Alabama and that the state Democratic Party is just as conservative as the mainstream Republican Party, but still.
Until Democrats can make inroads with white voters in the South, the region is going to be a GOP firewall.
