Moran is a massive freedom fighter. His actions against genocide in Darfur, protectionism, the DOMA and the Patriot Act all show this.

This whole "jewish leaders" thing is being blown out of proportion IMO. It's blatantly obvious that the neo-Cons rabid support for zionism is one of the reasons we're in Iraq. Perhaps he should have chosen his words better, but there is a huge largely jewish political lobby that was pushing for our current foreign policy.

This whole issue is being blown out of proportion. He was talking about leadership within the Jewish community, which he repeatedly clarified. And let's face it, a lot of Jewish Lobbyists did sway things in favor of the war. Hell, look at most of the last names of the people in charge of the neo-Con movement.

If Moran had condemned the leadership in the "black community leadership" for it's support for something like, say, Black Nationalism or the "hispanic community leadership" for MeCHa the usual GOP hacks would be cheering him on. But the second he talks about anything approaching radical zionism and/or neo-Conservatism (which are linked), he's tarred as a racist.

Sure, the most powerful proponents were anglo-saxon males. But let's get real here. A huge portion of the modern neo-Con movement, if not a majority of it, is Jewish. Kristol, Feith, Abrams, Shulsky, Horrowitz, and more come to mind. And if anything, much of what they advocate has some hideous racist undertones.

What did you expect? Politicians are hypocrites.
It's not just politicians. This is a cultural double standard. And it's one that's had a particularly negative effect in recent years.
