I’d be fine with Slotkin; Gilchrist would also be a good option. Stevens is far too close to AIPAC for my liking atp. On the R side, I mean, James is obviously better than Dixon or whoever, but he’s a 3x retread atp, come on. Meijer would be better but he’s DOA in a primary; only really scared of Huizenga.

Needs to be Whitmer. Slotkin should stay in her house seat

No way Whitmer ditches being god-empress of a crucial swing state for the US Senate, she already declined anyway. MI-07 is very winnable even without Slotkin and honestly there’s enough low hanging fruit elsewhere that it’s not necessarily essential for a Democratic majority either

TBH I'm increasingly starting to prefer Gilchrist or Dingell to Slotkin (not abandoning a swing seat + better on the issues) but frankly anyone but Stevens will make me happy

I mean Slotkin isn't ideal from my perspective tbh, but I sincerely doubt she would be anything other than a normal Democrat in the Senate. We have lots of non-Manchinema incumbents like Warner, Carper, and Coons who I suspect she'd be better than. I think 2022 also made a lot of people forget that Michigan isn't a Safe D state, so a candidate like Slotkin who consistently wins a swing district is pretty valuable.

I think Craig is probably a fine candidate, but one thing I do wonder is how you can demonize Detroit as a crime-infested hellhole when you were Chief of Police there for so long.
