I can understand her reasoning, but it’s a bit disappointing that she turned down a Fox town hall because she probably could have killed it.

I get the sense that Warren is trying to play the long game - keeping a lower profile and maintaining a hyper-focus on policy while not going negative on her fellow competitors. She has also invested plenty of resources in the early states, and her standing in the polls has increased. Time will tell if this will be enough to win.

There are no economically viable natural gas reserves in Georgia, and effectively zero in North Carolina. The (GOP-controlled) House in Georgia passed an anti-drilling resolution this session, while Cooper's efforts to block offshore drilling off the NC coast have been widely popular. Floridians are, of course, militantly anti-drilling. There's no pro-drilling, pro-fracking constituency in Colorado, or Arizona, or Nevada. Why would you say "the Sunbelt" when you mean "Texas"?

Don't forget about Rep. Joe Cunningham, who won a suburban district in South Carolina in part because of his opposition to offshore drilling (many people believe it was one of the key factors that played a role in his upset win).

I think there is such a generational shift happening that it doesn't matter what corporate Democrats want, they have 4-10 years left tops. There isn't going to be less AOC's. The young generation that travels all around the world and can see things with their own eyes isn't going to be afraid of socialized medicine because some news chanel or insurance lobbyman has scary talking points.

We will keep seeing the shift for the better I believe.

If the next generation has money to "travel all around the world", I don't want to hear a peep about student loan forgiveness under any circumstances. I am thankful that American government is set up to stonewall all of this.

The last thing people should be doing is selfish and dirty world travel over starting families and prudently saving.

Starting a family is much more expensive than taking occasional, one-off trips to certain places, so I'm not really sure if that's the best solution for deeply indebted millennials either...

Boy i was reading through the earlier comments in this thread and it sure does continue the Atlas tradition of being horribly, laughably wrong

In fairness, her rollout/early campaign was pretty bad. I think Warren has surprised a lot of people and exceeded their initial expectations.
