This seemed like the best place to post this: Perhaps the defining vote pertaining to the 2010 election was held last night.

Deval is opposed to the hike, which brings the rate from 5% to 6.25%, but it's going to become law anyway because Democrats in the legislature passed the increase with a veto-proof majority.

It cracks me up to think a Republican could win such a Democratic state...
But...
If Republicans put up a crap candidate, no. But if we put up a nice moderate who has a good amount of cash, this should be a nice pickup for the Republican party.

The last four governors of Massachusetts prior to Patrick were all Republicans.

And all of them have had better relations with the Democratic legislature than Patrick.
