Amendment to replace the title and text of this act with the following:

Resolution on the issue of Atlasian recognition of the United States of America

Whereas, contrary to the official standpoint of the Atlasian government, the United States of America are still in existence, and still in possession of all the territories formerly in their possession,

1. The Government of Atlasia is urged to recognize de jure the United States of America, and the legality of the government of the United States of America.
2. The Government of Atlasia is urged to establish diplomatic relations with the United States of America.
3. The Government and the people of Atlasia are urged to come to grips with the fact that Atlasia ain't no superpower, but is in fact a fairly small US-shaped country of very little international relevance.

Notice that I've somewhat rewritten section 3 compared to the earlier bill.

Motion to amend the bill by striking section 3.

I think the government would be well advised, for a large number of reasons, to not go around announcing itself as irrelevant.  Further, the population, size, and level of influence of Atlasia is not a matter for the Senate to legislate.
That's why this doesn't, strictly speaking, do that. Grin

I'm more than happy to support your amendment, btw, if that means the remainder of the resolution will pass.

For reasons I have made clear in the past, I will be opposing this bill in any form. It is not realistically possible for us to simply "create" issues out of nothing for Atlasia to deal with, but we can address issues facing the United States.
Or so some of us thought, back when the game was set up. The untruth of the statement is, I think, plainly clear to anyone who bothers to check the history of gm-ing in Atlasia.

And you strive to make the problem worse. Wonderful.
How so? I'm removing the (theoretical, not that we including our gms were ever up to it) task to police the entire world.

It is very awkward to recognize the United States as a separate entity, yet still retain my current home in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  Unless Atlasia has its own Massachusetts, shaped identically, with totally identical institutions and infrastructure.
Formerly totally identical. Obviously all acts passed by the Northeast apply. (That's irrespective of whether or not we accept that the real Massachusetts is also still in existence.)

Nay.  Simply put, I trust the voters of the Southeast to reject this proposal, but not the other Regions.  Tongue
It's not going by regions. Tongue

When and by whom, exactly, will this vote be started?
