Trans people aren’t an ethnic group and therefore can’t be genocided, according to the UN Definition of Genocide.

From the perspective of anyone saying they're trying to eradicate trans people, they think they're helping. It's the equivalent, for them, of wanting to eradicate anorexia. It doesn't mean they want to kill anorexics. They want to guide anorexics to better mental health outcomes.
