The anti-worker rhetoric from Republicans is disgusting, by the way. And not a single complaint about the extravagance and money-hording of the CEOs. Typical. Hopefully we do go all the way into another Great Depression, so we can start from scratch and maybe rework this fukced up system so it's at least somewhat fair for a few decades.

If it is on a purely voluntary basis, I would give to foreign cars, to keep my money out of union hands.

FAMs, for that exact reason.  Union members already make enough.

     This, as well as the fact that FAMs make better cars. Free market principles would dictate that they should succeed as a result.

LOL, free market principles. Why do you think the Japanese (and European and soon Chinese) auto makers are so successful? Massive government subsidies, and government-provided healthcare and retirement benefits.
