I get that they are important in certain contexts, but I find them gross and I doubt I would ever use one. I want to have intimacy with another person's body, not with a piece of rubber.
Yeah. You know when you have your en-condomed penis inside a woman's vagina and you say, "good thing my penis is wrapped up in this condom or else this might feel intimate."
It's not necessarily a total loss of intimacy (obviously the rest of your body is still touching theirs, you're still kissing, etc.), but it does make the genital contact part of sex a lot less enjoyable (for both parties). I agree with shua.
