As I argue in another board, I believe that consciousness is the most important point where life begins. The Medical Research Council in Britain, which is about as objective source as I could find, says this (pain) "may" begin at 20 weeks. In the interests of caution, I therefore I support this bill, but prefer 150 days be changed to 140 days.

I propose the following amendment:

No legal abortions are permitted after the 20th week of pregnancy, unless a certified medical Doctor proclaims the life or health of the woman or her unborn baby to be in question.

When considering whether to use 150 days or 20 weeks, I encourage all senators to read part 3.1-3.4 of the following report. It is only 4 paragraphs.

I vote no on both amendments currently being voted upon.

I support supersoulty's proposal, but it should include a federally funded, locally administered child care program.

Yes on my own amendment.
