Six weeks before the 2018 primary election, Ambassador Caroline Kennedy will make it known in elite circles that she's "expressing interest" in the Senate seat, explaining to her friends she wants the seat because, "You know, why not? You know, I have to work twice as hard as anyone else." A week later, she will sit down for an interview with the New York Daily News. When asked her stance on Trump's budget, she will say, "I think that, um, the budget, you know, was expiring and needed to be repealed." Asked about the 2016 election, she will say, "Hillary lost because she was entitled to the seat, you know, it was a sense of entitlement." Asked when she would start her campaign, she will answer, "Campaign? What campaign? I've already expressed interest."
