Does the described couple hate their kid?

Just because these people are obviously bad parents it doesn't mean they hate their kid.  There are lots of bad parents out there who love their children.  But as has been previously stated, this couple seems to care more about their own happiness than the well-being of their child.  A good parent must be willing to make some sacrifices for the sake of their child.  If that means giving up the cheap apartment next to the cool bars then so be it.  Besides, unless you're willing to shill out the extra cash for a babysitter you aren't going to be going out all that often anyways.
