Not really. He lives in a bubble of sorts, much like many here do who probably don't know any evangelicals in real life.

The gays^TM walk among us and exist pretty much everywhere in the world, even in places like Iran, Chechnya, and Tennessee.

To answer the thread's question, since he acknowledges knowing "former but repented" gays,  he in fact knows people who are indeed actually gay.

I actually didn't say this.  I can only think of one time I've met a former homosexual.  A bunch of people went out to Buffalo Wild Wings after a worship night back in May, and one guy was sharing his testimony that included that.  I didn't really know him (I imagine he was somehow connected to others I knew in the group though).
