Not sure why people here are so vehemently against Fried, when she was the only Dem who managed to get elected in 2018 and seems to be well liked in FL.

July fundraising numbers:

DeSantis - over $4m
Crist - $270,000
Fried - $130,000

Pathetic for the Democrats. Yeah, this is Safe R.

What did they raise in June? This can't be right. DeSantis is the easiest foil too. Demings literally raised nearly $5M against Rubio in a month.

Crist raised $412k in June.
Fried raised $396k.
DeSantis (PAC because he's not yet officially running) - 5.6m

JFC, what the f**k are they doing? Crist and Fried should be rollling in $$ right now

Red avi morons need to stop hyperventilating over bullsh**t numbers posted by the "Florida Capital Star," which is a right-wing propaganda outlet. That twitter user (he's clearly not a reporter) is pulling DeSantis's PAC numbers and comparing them to what the Dems raised solely for their campaign accounts, excluding what they raised for their committees. Not sure if that is meant to be intentionally deceptive or if Mr. Holcomb simply doesn't realize that state candidates have both committees and campaign accounts, but either way, it does not give me any great confidence in the truthiness of his tweets.

The real fundraising figures for the month: Crist raised slightly over $500k, not $270k; Fried raised $328k, not $130k (that figure that doesn't include a $50k check she got in the first week of August). So, at a minimum, he's understating the numbers by half.

This makes more sense, though I'm still rather surprised Crist and Fried are still that low. I'd expect them both to rake in millions, given again that DeSantis is just a foil right now.

Yeah, I had nothing against Fried but she's been embarrassing herself at this point.

It's too bad Demings didn't run for GOV. She's the only one in any of these races that is competent and has a shot (albeit still a small one).

Crist seems good on paper, but he's just been totally invisible.

FLORIDA PRIMARY AUGUST 23RD 2022
EARLY VOTE TOTALS as of July 24th 2022 8am

Republicans 44,674

Democrats 39,496

Minor Parties 1,506

No Party Affiliation  16,513

Total Vote: 102,189

This is all VBM Vote and it's very, very early and might mean nothing in the grand sheme of things.

However considering that Democrats have competitive Statewide Primaries in FL and Republicans do not the Early VBM Returns are disappointing.

A) EV literally just started, and mail in ballots *just* went out didn't they?
B) isn't FL an open primary state? Given that young people are likely more often registering as Indies, I'd wait to see how that vote turns out

Total EV has surpassed 2 million, with today being the last day of early in person and mail
ins being accepted thru Tuesday.

Unsurprisingly, Dems have a better start than they did in 2018, given that the GOP races are not competitive this year.

2018 EV total: 2M (46% R, 44% D)
2022 EV total: 2.06M (45.2% D, 41.8% R)

VBM: 1.52M (48% D, 38% R)
Early IP: 546K (54% R, 39% D)

https://twitter.com/WinWithJMC/status/1561330946456141824

Glad to see the FL Democratic Party is not completely dead this year. If things were really bad for them, they would've been falling under Rs already imo.

In 2018, total turnout was about 3.1M, with 1.6M on GOP side and 1.5M on Dem side.

Yeah, angry Electorate and Whitmer is up 12 and Shapiro is up 15 and Barnes is up 4 in a Fox poll

2016 doesn't know that wage caused Inflation, when Trump was in office the wages were 10.00 now post Trump it's 15.00 of course they had to raise subway and food prices the minimum wage went up

Inflation is alot higher in Singapore 11.00, gas even if we get Trump back in offices wages are gonna keep going up meaning more inflation and people aren't paying student loans it's more money to spend on other things, that causes Inflation as well

Inflation even with inflation reduction Act isn't going away soon because Biden is gonna pause Student Loans and give more than 10K in Discharge more money in pocket

I asked a Subway manager why did Footlongs Subs go up from 2/10.00 to 2/20.00 she said wages went up to 15.00 an hr, so there was no federal minimum wage hike 26 states did raise minimum wage including FL to 15.00

Of course if you order Uber you pay a tax penalty of 20.00 including tip for Delivery orders
No, Inflation was caused by the bonaheaded stupid COVID Relief Act that was passed by Democrats in February/March 2021 which overstimulated the Economy. Even Obamas former Economic Advisor Larry Summers said that.

LMAO, sure jan. Guess the COVID relief act also caused inflation in basically every other global country as well then.

Not just that, but Trump signed 2 COVID relief bills in 2020 while he was in office. So those didn't contribute to inflation but Biden's did? Just stop.

First 4 hours, day is young but this doesn't strike me as a 1M ED day.

I am waiting on the hilarious excuses by the Crist Campaign in November. He will probably blame his loss on the Mar-a-Lago Raid which galvanized Republicans.

.... The Dem has an uphill battle regardless in November. They always have.

Said in the primary turnout thread... Dems actually outdid their raw turnout from 2018 yesterday, which is very good news for them.

However, GOP still turned out more despite no statewide races (though there seems to be considerable amount of competitive/high profile down ballot races)

Given Rs are +1.5 I think in Reg now, it may equal out to about equal "turnout" wise for each?

Charlie Crist appears to believe that the year is 2000.

Eh, some people said similar things about Biden.
