I haven't seen one of these yet, so feel free to either direct me to that megathread or post discussion of the 2024 Wisconsin Senate race here.

Coming off a heartbreaking 1% loss to Ron Johnson, Democrats hope Tammy Baldwin can win re-election. However, in my view this race is a tossup, and gun to my head, Baldwin narrowly loses.

Johnson was going to be a tough pull when Democrats, for some inexplicable reason, gave up on defeating him this year. Baldwin will be in no such position. Call it lesbian solidarity, but definitely betting on her here.

They spent lots of money on Barnes, it's just that the GOP spent more on Johnson. Citizens United is the only reason Ron Johnson is a Senator to begin with.

If Gallagher gets in, this race is a tossup at best for Democrats. Apparently he's showing signs that he will likely run.

I truly believe Baldwin will narrowly lose in 2024. Even without the low-propensity WWC voters turning out, Johnson was still able to win.

Tom Tiffany is literally an election denier lol
Awesome. So was Ron Johnson, Mike Garcia, Ted Budd, Lee Zeldin, etc. Normal people don't care about that.

Literally no. As much as y’all try and minimize the fact you staged a coup people still find it repugnant

While I agree that the attempted coup should never be normalized, I think Woodbury has a point in that anyone who's bothered by it enough to vote against Tiffany was never going to vote for Tiffany to begin with. Rather sad, but reality doesn't have to conform to what we wish it would be.

Very fascinating how this race and Michigan's are completely failing to attract any top Republican talent.

I can understand Michigan, but Johnson just won reelection in 2022. Surely this is a race the GOP would at least be able to field a B-tier candidate in. To be fair, though, there's still time.

I don't understand how statewide races can ever end up without a serious nominee. What, the state party can't convince some random state rep to give it a go? Even as a sacrificial lamb?

I could understand it for Democrats in Safe R districts, simply because they likely receive death threats all the time from the "Second Amendment people." But I'm pretty surprised the GOP hasn't been able to get a serious candidate for this race yet. It'll still be a close race, of course, regardless of who Baldwin's opponent is, but they could do a lot better than David Clarke.

I'm a little late in sharing this, but this *totally serious* likely candidate for senate decided to shout out members of Election Twitter (for whatever reason)

Am I the only one who finds this amusing? The production value is so low!
