Crenshaw, at an event last week:

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/09/16/crenshaw-activist-army-511963

Quote
“What are we gonna see next, Governor Crenshaw or President Crenshaw?” one attendee asked.

The crowd — hundreds of teenagers and 20-year-old conservatives largely from Texas — went absolutely wild.

“Like a good politician, I have to say Congressman Crenshaw is what you’ll see next,” Crenshaw said. “I don’t know, you know, but to answer that honestly, always will keep options open.”

I wonder if people are sleeping on Crenshaw a bit. He's able to play to the culture wars without coming off as unhinged, but he also outran Trump by double digits in a diverse urban/suburban district.

It may be for the best if Trump and MTG were locked in a loony bin together.

Both seem to have deep-seated mental issues and are profoundly toxic influences on our society.

Cruz: "The runner up is almost always the next nominee". Explicitly says that he's considering.

A lot of local GOP activists in swing states are tired of rehashing 2020 and want to move on. Honestly, if Trump runs again and his whole platform is how Democrats and RINOs stole the election, I think he really could be surprisingly vulnerable to someone like DeSantis who's in the "move on" camp.

Apparently the 2024 RNC will be hosted in one of Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Salt Lake City or Nashville. If they really think Trump will run and be the nominee, SLC seems like kind of a weird choice to me. Utah may be red, but it's certainly not Trump country.

Pompeo’s PAC has been spending $ on media training:

https://www.axios.com/mike-pompeo-shells-out-for-media-makeover-8eae9986-94c1-471a-9715-4104702b315d.html

Quote
Mike Pompeo's political action committee spent $30,000 on media training from last March to June — the most on any service beyond payroll during the first six months of 2021.

Why it matters: The former secretary of State hasn't just been losing weight but working to hone his media skills amid speculation about a possible presidential run, records show.
.
.
.
A Pompeo spokesperson declined to comment on the payments or the former secretary's media-training regimen.

Pompeo would be lucky to hit 2% in Iowa. He really brings nothing to the table.

Mark Cuban:

https://www.mediaite.com/podcasts/mark-cuban-claims-he-has-what-it-takes-for-successful-2024-run-but-would-never-put-my-family-through-that/

Quote
“No,” Cuban said in response to Jay Williams saying Cuban should run for President in 2024 on his NPR The Limits podcast.

“Do you think you would have what it took to be the president of the United States of America?” Williams replied.

“Of course,” Cuban answered. “Well, I shouldn’t say, of course you never know until — until you know, right? It’s the hardest job in the world so I’m not going going to be that arrogant.”

Cuban explained that he is the man for the job, but is worried about his family. “At the same time, relative to anybody else, I think I could do the job, but I would never put my family through that,” he said. “As much as charisma is important to getting elected, the whole process is the worst thing possible for a family. You literally have to disregard, unless you have, like my kids are 12, 15 and 18. And so unless you’re willing to disregard their mental health at that age, you can’t do it.”

Honestly, if 2024 is a Biden-Trump rematch, I could see Cuban jumping in and being an independent wildcard like Perot.

Rick Scott publishes a 31 page plan to "save America", covering pretty much every national issue. Launches a PAC as well.

Rick Scott will be lucky to hit 1% in Iowa. Unlimited money can only take him so far.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: Rick Scott will get nowhere in a primary.

It's almost like he has further aspirations beyond getting reelected as governor...

If President Biden was to show actual signs of (new real) health problems, who do you think would be the first to get into the Democratic primaries to challenge Biden? Kind of like when Senator Eugene McCarthy challenged President Lyndon Johnson in 1968.

My guess is it would be some former U.S House member who has no plan to get back into electoral politics so doesn't mind annoying the Democratic establishment, but I can't think of a name other than maybe Stephanie Murphy.

Murphy is not a natural-born citizen.

Maybe Joe Cunningham? He seems like he's been itching to get back into the political arena, though he's been very involved with No Labels so he might not want to run as a Democrat.

If NJ didn't have the county lines, there's a chance this clown would have gotten the nomination for Governor and dragged down everyone just like Mastriano and Cox did.

They can hope for that as much as they want, but he's still never even won a primary.

Increasingly clear that Haley will be the default anti-Trump candidate in the actual primaries next year. Not that she has a real chance of taking him down, but I think she finishes second place over Rob and Vivek, which means winning Utah and maybe Vermont or something.

Probably DC.
