I would have hated wearing one but I have always been in favor of them, sure it's great to question authority and stand out, but middle school is about schooling and not leading an insurrection, anyone who thinks uniforms for school children is fascist should be dragged out into the street and shot.

I'm pretty sure I wore jeans and a t-shirt to every day of 7th and 8th grade... hardly an insurrection was being led.  I really don't think uniforms will change the fact that occasionally two middle school girls get in a fight and one bashes the others head against the wall until her eye pops out of hte socket...

Personally I think kids should be in elementary school until 6th grade and then have very small classes in 7th and 8th grade so that the teachers can keep an eye on their hormonal pipsqueaks.

I think we have the opposite views of those in the south when it comes to clothing.  Because of our very inhospitable weather for much of the year, function takes precedence over style.

So we just extrapolated this to our general outlook on clothing.

People wear shorts and t-shirts as much as possible because it's not something we get to do much.

Also, we don't look as much at clothes as a status symbol.  Everybody pretty much wore the same stuff in high school.

We just don't have the formal/informal culture here that the south has.  People here generally go by first name and it is very awkward to refer to somebody except teachers and Mr. or Mrs. something.

Uh...I guess that was directed at me. Thank you...?  Tongue

I wonder why you choose to say that now. You've responded to my posts in the past without mentioning Italy.

I think somebody has a little admirer.

I love my Air Force ones and Sperry's. Not much into flip flops, though.

Whoa there, gangsta.

I wear them when I go to North Charleston aka Norf Chucktown aka Death Row.

lol you would. Wink

You two have zero street cred compared to me.

Ever been to an impoverished Indian reservation?  Government housing stripped to nothing (even the wiring for the copper) and needles strewn all over the yards.. little kids wandering around naked whose parents are high... abandoned dogs roaming around in packs..
