Do you know any poor white people?

There are tons of poor white people where I grew up.  And there's often animosity because while Native Americans are very poor too, they often get assistance that is not available to white people.. namely moneys and benefits distributed through their tribe.

I'd imagine though on this forum the number of people who have lived in deep poverty where you had no access to money even from family or friends is very low.

And it takes a lot of ignorance and stupidity to make a claim like "white people can't be poor" especially since you're probably doing quite well financially and have used that security to literally sequester yourself away from poor white people.

It's like you know they are there, but you just deny their existence as some form of sick elitist schadenfreude simply because they're the only group you can do that to with relatively few consequences.

Literally no one in this thread has said that. That's a total straw man.

I didn't post that exclusively in the context of the discussion in this thread.. but in the context of what inspired this thread.. which was the awful remark by Sanders that was hopefully him just poorly choosing his words.  (which it most likely was)

That said.. Atlas has a nerdy upper-middle class sheltered young suburban elitist streak that should be challenged as much as possible.
