WTF is a spergalerg? Sounds like a Star Trek character. When I put that word in the google, the first that comes up is this very topic

It took me a second to notice, but I'm pretty sure it's a disparaging slang term for asperger's syndrome. With that realization, this thread is indeed in poor taste. Very disappointed in Snowguy for it.

Im so glad you know better than me a word I made up to describe some of the super spergy activities I do.  The verb form is spergalergin cuz it has rhythm that captures the essence of being in "the zone"...something you and maddy very very clearly dont understand.

You guys dont know yourselves let alone me.  And that I find more disappointing than anything in this thread.  You should disparage that rather than attack me for my own mental peculiarities.

Their message is...if you do peculiar activities in peculiar ways because it helps you cope with constant sensory overload, you should feel bad about it cuz its an illness and we need to be sensitive about the words we use lest Maddy and Carl be offended.

I'm...honestly confused by how Snowguy could have gotten the message that he appears to have gotten from what I said, but I'm sorry, because I clearly screwed up massively in expressing what I wanted to express. I guess I should have mentioned that I have an autism spectrum diagnosis and am kind of sensitive about it rather than just having chosen this to be recreationally outraged about.

I know exactly why you were so upset about it. I just think your response was ridiculous because all you're doing is creating victims you can pity. And I can tell you that when it comes to peculiar things about yourself that you cannot change… Pity is the last thing you want.

For example a friend tells you 'my grandma just died.'  In that situation, pity is absolutely appropriate.

If your friend told you I've just been diagnosed on the autism spectrum...pity is absolutely inappropriate.

Also i appreciate that you apologized even though none was needed.  I apologize if I offended you.  Please understand I have no cynical feelings towards Bushie and there was no cynical motive behind this thread.


Examples of Spergalergin

Me calculating the exact cohort fertility rates for various age groups over time.  Why?  The iiiiiiiiitch.

When Adamgriffin spends two hours analyzing and compiling data in Atlasia using everything from surveys to results to rumors to have meticulous spreadsheets so he can figure out the trend in Labor voters over a series of elections.  Why?  Spergalergin!

When BaconKing does the same thing but isn't exactly the leader of Labor...dats spergalergin...

Thanks a lot Snowguy, but I'd rather decide myself how I want to react to having Asperger's. Your posts in this thread are the equivalent of mansplaining.

Yes.  I was deciding for you how to react to you having aspergers.

Or maybe I was suggesting that pitying people with aspergers is misplaced and inappropriate.  But maybe you want pity. If so, that's pretty terrible.

Reminds me of when my PC friend took huge offense to the word "retard" because it may offend the retards.

Gtfo for using the term "PC" and for justifying the degradation of mentally challenged people by using a slur against them.

The term is 'intellectually disabled'...not mentally challenged as if they've failed to achieve something.
