NCY-- Calm down.  Seriously.

Kids look at porn.  If you didn't, good for you.  It's not your choice as to whether I look at porn or my kids look at porn.  And while the government should indeed discourage the type of promiscuity that can hurt others (spreading STDs, unplanned pregnancies, etc.), looking at porn is not one of those things.

Getting up and arms about it and taking our thoughts completely out of context makes you look ridiculous.

We are arguing that the choice about porn is up to us.  You are arguing that the government should "discourage it" by "making it illegal".  Personal morals that don't affect others are not for the government to enforce.  We live in a free country, not a Christian theocracy.

To me it looks opposite. What you guys propose is whats ridiculous. I have become accustomed to blowing my stack at what I see as an unfairness or double standard which is what I see here. Like Sbane or you claiming that I should shut up cause you think my points are ridiculous. When did you two get appointed the final arbiter of whats ridiculous? I think you guys are being pretty ridiculous arguing for what you do but I don't use that against you or call you ridiculous because I disagree with you. I give you that courtesy you should at least be able to return the favor.

What I find ridiculous is that you want to use legal authority to apply your personal moral beliefs on others lest some fantastical moral disaster occur.

Also, just because I support allowing 14yo's to buy pornography consisting of 18+ consenting adults does not mean I am encouraging it.  That choice is ultimately up to the kid.  His parents can guide him, discourage it, ban the stuff from the household.  But ultimately that decision should be between the child and his parents, not with the government.
