I don't personally believe that the wealth tax is unconstitutional, but I can see the argument that the courts would rule that it was anyway.

Excellent infrastructure plan.

Biden's been pretty clear that he doesn't want to do handouts for the rich, so I don't see him capitulating on SALT

Credit where credit is due. AOC is correct here. Removing the SALT cap would be a gift to the upper-middle class.

If I had to pick a concession, it would be this, but still not happy about it.

Why was Sinema disguised as a traffic cone?

Well, she is known for "middle of the road" politics..

Am I the only one who thinks that the House holding the infrastructure bill hostage while negotiating the reconciliation bill is a really bad idea?

We need to get the money flowing as soon as possible.

Also, Manchin doesn't seem like the type that would bow to pressure.

I get what you mean, but this is pretty quick for a bill of this size.

We're talking about infrastructure. Things don't happen overnight no matter how fast the House acts. It will take years, in most cases, for the money to actually get out.

Here is the thing: 2022 is not years away.

Democrats need to be able to campaign ASAP.

I don't know what to tell you. Democrats cannot magically reduce the time it takes to build roads and rails.

No, but Democrats can say that the money is already on the way.

And I'm positive they're going to do that as soon as the bill is signed by Biden.

What exactly are you looking for here?

Universal pre-K is a complete waste of money and should be axed.

This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard.

Universal preschool is one of the best investments we can make for children's' futures.

Research has shown that preschool does nothing to help children in the long term.

You are objectively incorrect:

I gotta give credit to Sawx & co, you guys were right about Gottheimer.  He turned out to be quite the miserable little dirtbag.

I'm in his district and I'll be looking to support his primary opponent next June.
