There are some things I would like to say concerning the controversy surrounding the recent election.

I think people have every right to spoil their ballot. Voters should be able to do what they want with their vote. I don't see how spoiling your ballot is "stealing" an election. I don't even see how it is immoral.

I realize that certain people may have gone beyond that and campaigned for others to spoil their ballots as well. Whether or not that is legal is something that will perhaps be decided by the courts. But what, if I were making the rules, would I prefer? I do think that tricking someone into invalidating their vote should certainly be illegal. But if a person tells another exactly what will happen by editing or deleting their vote and how it will help their preferred candidate win, well, from a strictly moral point of view, I see absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's part of the game and those people should be able to do what they wish with their ballots. The people who spoiled their ballots had an effective strategy. Those who are upset by the results should remember what happened here and attempt to use it on their own sometime.

There also has been some discussion about switching to secret ballots. I do not believe such a system would work in this game for a number of reasons. Where would we vote? On a separate website? By PM? The SoFA (or someone else) could easily manipulate the results. Not that I think Earl would ever do anything like that, but we don't know who may be SoFA in the future. I think the chances of election fraud would skyrocket if we used this type of system here.

Amen.

Here are the first three messages I received from "ben".:

Now that we've got you both in, can we get that bastard? God, I hate him.

Also, can you remind me what the plan is to bring him down?

I think that DWTL said we planned on doing it a few days from now. I believe the plan is to inform Sam Spade, and then have him reveal to everybody the proof that he hacked your account. Don't say anything yet, or it will ruin the plan. If it goes well, he will not only be exposed, he will be humiliated

Can you run the proof by me again?

Since the election is over and Sam Spade is respected by the Atlasian community, it will have more effect when he reveals it to everyone in a few days.

I know, I know. But vcan you just give me the plan again? I think I found a flaw in it, but I don't rmember what.

When I received the third one, I realized that someone had hacked his account. I sent a reply to that manner, though I didn't save it in my outbox. A few minutes later, I received this:

I have stuff. Don't push this, and you won't have to find out what.

And then this:

Oh, and Ben's PMs weren't me, and I won't tell you who they were.

He then tried to tell me he was just kidding, and when I asked "What PMs?", he said "Nevermind", although I didn't save those messages either. The five messages you see, however, were saved and viewed by Alcon. Thanks to Alcon and Bgwah for investigating this matter.

My god, you folks love to overreact. To everything. That's all I'll say now.

Yeah, because hacking someone's account is no big deal. Roll Eyes

Who would have seen something like this coming, ya know.

I'm pretty sure that Duke and DWTL did.
