I'm eager to see the reaction of DWTL.
I obviously will vote against it, Xahar is a criminal (in Atlas terms) and a hacker, he is THE worst choice for AG

I only just noticed that opening language there... I suppose Dwtl didn't commit a crime after all. Sad
It would make you happy if I had committed a crime?  Kind of depressing

What's the opening language in question? Huh
In order to have committed a crime, you must be a person who may have to be called upon to determine the validity of the vote.  As I am neither SoFA nor Deputy SoFA, the law does not apply to me.

You could make a convoluted argument that as a Senator you are in a position to determine the validity of the vote as the Senate can (in practice at least) choose not to seat members by having fun with expulsions and so on...
The argument, while valid to an extent, would certainly not hold up in court.  In that case any citizen would be able to determine the validity of a vote as they could recall their governor.

Ah, thank you so much!  I was fearing my bill to this might fail in the senate that did not appreciate KoTBP's greatest.  Even if we move the capital, we certainly could leave the statue there is a rememberance of his governorship.

Or you can donate it to the Mideast. It would be greatly appreciated.....after all....our police force does need target practice every now and then....
How dare you disrespect our fallen hero like that!!!

At this time, I'd like to apoligize to MaxQue, the evidence did show he was not a Xahar sockpuppet.  Somehow I feel this is not the last we will see of Xahar through some sort of sockpuppet account, however, it is a brighter day in Atlasia than you all know what we have known for sometime.

Remember when I said I had evidence? Well, we did, we just needed all the pieces Smiley

If you accuse everyone of being Xahar's sock, eventually you're going to be right.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day as the saying goes
Why do you think I did that?  I've known this for weeks

I ask that Meeker opens a PPT vote so that I can win it and move ahead with senate business, or that he declare an abscene so that I can act as Dean for the time being

MasterJedi would be a far more competent PPT. I urge him to run.
And I urge myself to run and I have the votes Smiley  I have done nothing to prove myself incompetent other than suggest that you being chosen as VP was a bad choice, which frankly, does not render my incompetent at all.

I plan to run for PPT as the anti-DWTL just to let everyone know.  Despite the RPP majority I feel I still have a decent chance at victory.
RPP Senators = 5, even a tie would just go to Meeker

Only if RPP vote the one way. I think DWTL's over eagerness and assuredness of his victory is unsettling. He has not aleviated concerns people have over his ability to do a high profile and important administrative job.

In short I'm finding him quite childish at the moment.
My overconfidence is not childish at all.  I know that people, like yourself, will continue to doubt my abilities.  Therefore, I look forward to nothing more than proving naysayers wrong and actually running a senate that functions well.

ok, well in terms of parties you have more members than anyone else lol.  And what is your point on that?
What is my point?  I only need five votes to force a tie, and six to assure victory

To expand on what Afleitch said, my anger and overconfidence is directed at the fact that last time people in the senate doubted my abilities and hailed their god, Al.  What happened was the senate went to crap when it wouldn't have under my leadership

I am undecided. While I'd prefer that the RPP not control the entire Senate, and I fear that DWDL is trying to turn it into some partisan office
I have no intention of turning the PPT into a partisan office, that is something that was done in the last senate.  The only thing I want to do is keep the senate running and make sure that all the rules are followed.  I promise not to strike any bills as frivolous unless there seems to be a large backlash against the bill from at least 2/3 of the senators.  Perhaps no action was worse than Al striking down my "Free Palestine Bill" with no reasons other than he did not like it.  I intend to be a fair PPT and I also intend to remind senators when votes are coming up and keep an up to date noticeboard.

Another thing to consider, do we want a PPT who really wants the job or a PPT who is running solely to oppose another PPT candidate?

So you're criticising the need for an election involving more than one candidate? Do you want to bypass the democratic process and simply be crowned?
For an office that requires so much activity to keep functioning, someone should really want the job rather than simply run to oppose someone who wants it.

As dean of the senate, I will assuming the responsibilties of PPT for the time being so that we can actually do something.  For the time being that would be open a hearing for Marokai as AG.

I am still trying to read to determine the constitutionality of the issue as it says the VP must be inactive for five days, but does not specify if this means senate action or overall action.

Can we please get hearings for Marokai and TCash?
