Perhaps there should be a separate sub-forum for Trump's trials under US General Discussion. Similar to the poll sub-forums under the 2024 US Presidential Election.

That could allow US General Discussion to be clear for other topics, without as many stickies cluttering it up. And then there could be separate stickied threads for each trial in the sub-forum instead.

The Cathy Latham one looks a bit "deer in the headlights" like she is thinking to herself "omg what have I gotten myself into"

The Ray Smith one makes you wonder if he is actually there for some other DIRECT (violent?) crime... not just being a fake elector...



I'm calling it now, if any of the fake electors tries to flip and take a plea for a reduced sentence, the first one to jump at the opportunity will be Cathy Latham.

Meadows really seems to think he has some sort of right to special treatment here for some reason.

The only thing I could think of that could possibly be an actual reason is if he has been cooperating with Jack Smith, and was for some reason under the impression that he would receive more favorable treatment in return. Maybe he is getting that part of the deal from Smith in his federal case(s), but perhaps he was expecting the same from Fani Willis (with Jack Smith coordinating that with her or something) in Georgia but is not getting it.

Trump doesn't want a speedy trial at all. In fact his lawyer just filed a motion against it.

CNN reports (on TV) that Trump filled out paperwork in advance self-reporting that he weighed 215 pounds. So that confirms he has not been weighed to determine that weight, the weight is just self-reporting...
