Are Arabs White?

?  Odd question.  I reckon some are and some aren't. 

Didn't vote in the poll.  It's rather like asking whether grapes are green.  Some are, of course, but some are purple.  And some are cranberry-colored.  I can't say "yes" to "are grapes green?" either.

Where are you going with this anyway?

Arab is one of those terms like Hispanic that doesn't convey a race.

That's kinda how I see it.  The problem, if there is any, must have arisen with the arabization, starting more than a thousand years ago, of lands occupied by folks with no arabian ancestry.  Yeah, like starting about 500 years ago many folks with no Iberian ancestry were hispanicized.  

Well, I know at least on Arab, from Iraq, who is about as white as a piece of paper.  I know other arabs who are decidedly not white.  A few I've met are sort of butterscotch, but I think most of them that I've met are either caramel or cinnamon.  

I still don't understand the OP.  What's the point?

I don't recall it, but Spaniards are white. 

I've never been to Portugal, but I assume that we can call the portuguese white as well.  Mikado's comments about hispanics, with which I agree, can be applied more broadly to include Iberianization (including imposed Porguguization) as well, if I may coin the term.

Arabs, like Hispanics, come in all sizes, shapes, and colors.  I've never met an Arab who was as black as a car tire, but I've met at least one who is a paler shade of pink than my ass (which almost never sees the sun as is very nearly as white as a piece of paper.)

No need for you, perhaps, and if you were the queen of the known universe then you could proclaim that there is no need for the rest of us as well, on penalty of death.  As it turns out, you are are not the queen of the known universe.  

There may also be no need for Mikado to post it, but he did.  I still have no idea what thread you were referring to, and I'm really not in the mood to try to look it up, but I do think that Mikado's analogy was reasonable, whether or not it was "needed."

edit:  on some level I agree that the hispanic analogy isn't really needed.  After all, I think my own grape analogy hit the nail on the head.
