Joe Biden supported Clarence Thomas, with Hollings and Alan Dixon, who were Reagan conservatives.  So, it's not that surprising he said this.

Claiming Joe Biden is racist is just ridiculous. What far more concerns me about the dude is that he looks old and seems not to create much excitement.

He has no reason to say what he did, he has the Clarence Thomas issue, but Democrats arent gonna support Sanders. Democratic Establishment  by Eddie Rendell pushed Biden. But, doesnt see Warren or Sanders as electable

This is the opening that Trump needs to stop Biden's momentum.  Biden had huge momentum over Trump, once again Biden made another gaffe

Honestly, I don't see this being as harmful for Biden in a general election as it will be for him in the primary. It definitely isn't helping him in any way, but the media cycle by the time he wins the nomination (if he does) will be well beyond this. Trump isn't the only one who can advantage of Americans' short attention spans and memories.

Couldn't Trump use it to deflect accusations of him being racist?

Yes, but I don't think it would deter people of color from turning out as much as he might think, because it's Trump we're talking about here.

It's not the racist comments that will hurt him, it's all of the comments, like six abuse with women. Dems still have the advantage, but at the end, Trump closed the gap with white women,  with Hilary. Females are sensitive to comments like this, as they were with Hilary's ethics. That's why polls are narrowing.

Not only that, Bernie can still win IA and NH, these comments don't help Biden, with Sanders voters

Biden voted for Clarence Thomas, said that his state is a slave state and you must be Brown to work at 7-11. Biden has a history of racial insensitivity

Biden needs to apologize

No. Biden voted against Thomas.

Yes, he did, the committee voted 13-1 to advance the nomination to the full Senate, where on the floor he voted against it.  Even Kennedy voted to advance the nomination to the full Senate. Paul Simon was the only one to vote against advancing the nomination to full Senate.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clarence_Thomas_Supreme_Court_nomination

That's why Biden apologized to Anita Hill

Yes, he tried to have it both ways, vote in Committee to advance the nomination, as chairman, like Senator Leahy, who succeeded him in committee ranking member, and vote in public against him

Biden has had a history of saying racially insensitive remarks, who cares about his vote, and he isnt going to be the nominee, as you think he has.

When you go around saying a segregationist is the way you move legislation, saying Obama is clean black man that got ahead, and saying Brown skinned people work at 7 eleven, and DEL is a slave state, Biden doesnt deserve the nomination.

Alan J.Dixon, who was IL most prestigious Senator, lost, in my home state of IL, due to his vote for Clarence Thomas, that's why Simon refused to even vote in committee for a favorable recommendation for Thomas.

Obviously, Biden was hurt by his vote, he still apologized for to Hill, 20 yrs later.

Biden has once again made a gaffe, and it didn't happen during the primaries debates, he hasn't seen up anything. All we can do is watch the polls and Trump isnt gonna get blown out like polls showed Hillary doing against Trump.

Everyone has different opinions on here

Part of issue why segregation isnt a factor anymore in public schools is due the resegegation, of schools due to Charter schools. In 70's, there were magnet schools that blacks had to go to with whites.

Now Charter schools are not forcefully intergregrated and minorities still go to public schools. Like Universities and Graduate schooling

So, impact of charter schools has allowed the very smart kids to integrate with each other, whichever color one is

Southern Black Mayors are flocking towards Biden, due to his must win strategy in SC. Booker and Harris made a strategic move not to endorse the better candidate,  whom was Kamala, and Biden jumped in a solidified the black support he needed

Even if Dems do take control of Congress, they will face the same problem as the GOP majority has which is money. Dont forget unanimous consent is needed for all bills to be brought to floor. Even eliminating filibuster doesnt undo that.

GoP can still as minority,  block things, like reparations,  that are out of mainstream.  So, a 22T deficit will still hamper a Dem majority

Unfortunate,  Carol Mosley Braun just endorsed Biden. This is right after Jesse Jackson said we must not have a Biden coronation. Blacks should consider Harris

The reason for Biden's lead is that Sanders is collapsing in IA. Warren is in second place in IA. In order for Harris to win, Warren has to win IA and then, NH would be wide open to Harris or Warren. Which is still a possibility

Bernie or Harris is gonna beat Biden, as I said before. It was different with Hilary, when the Establishment supported her, she earned that right.

With Biden, DNC is trying to force the Dem voters to vote for him

He is the DNC choice, majority of superdelegates already pledged their support to Biden before he announced: many of the Black and Latino caucus, Braun, Atlanta mayor and Ed Rendell.

He's on the attack now, saying that what Harris did was inappropriate.  No one stands behind Biden, and his opinion,  except Mosley-Braun.

It is still Biden's nomination to lose, but if he doesn't stop the flailing, Warren/Harris/Sanders/Ryan will be the nominee.

No, only incunbency has the advantage. Biden picked the wrong yr to run. 2016 was the yr of the older candidates: Bernie, Hilary and Biden and Trump. This yr Y2K with Harris.

Biden decided to forgo 2016 since he didn't want to run a difficult primary campaign. Now he thought it'll be a cakewalk for him, and that shows he's a dumbass.

He created the same mistake Bill Clinton did on behalf of Hilary in 2008, went after Obama on race, during King day . BIden made racial overtones towards blacks, as well.

Bill Clinton, trying to get Kennedy to endorse his wife, went after Obama and said this guy, Obama is trying to carry our bags, around Dr King day, before SC primary.

Then, as we all know, Reverend Wright controversy soon followed

I am not faulting him for forgoing the 2016 campaign,  he didnt learn from Hilary's mistake when her campaign with Geraldine Ferraro used racial tensions to get ahead of Barack Obama. Using the Reverend Wright controversy.  Joe Biden stepped in same racial issues, and it hurt him with Kamala, and now she is close to winning. If Biden doesnt win IA or NH, even if Warren and Bernie takes it, they are polling below average in deep South.

Biden's freiwal SC strategy crumbles and Kamala will win SC, TX, Cali and NV

Biden sucked out the air out of the room from Beto and Bernie. Once, Bernie was no longer a thread, Kamala was able to attack Biden and seize the mommfor the nomination
