Earlier this week, I got accepted to grad school (the school on the bottom of my list, but still) but rather than feeling any kind of relief or pride, I've just been stressed that now I have to make a concrete plan for the future, and that work is never done. Sometimes I feel like I'm not cut out for adult life, which is probably a normal fear but I don't know how other people overcome it. I just wish I could feel good about this instead of thinking "oh great, here we go again".

I'm visiting British Columbia and yesterday I was was in Nanaimo, had a Nanaimo bar there so I could say I did. Forgot I don't actually like stuff that's sickeningly sweet like that, didn't help that there was a mixup and I wasn't able to have coffee along with it. Enjoying the trip though and could definitely see myself living out here. Might abandon all my possessions to live in my friends' spare room for a few months if they'll have me, we'll see.

Years ago I used to regularly watch Al Jazeera because the breadth of their news coverage is simply unparalleled by any other agency. AJ was literally the only network that covered things like the conflict in the Central African Republic in any depth (aside from some token reporting on the BBC). I always knew it was Qatari state media, but embarrassingly never twigged on until recently that it really is just blatant Islamist propaganda. I refuse to watch it any longer, but unfortunately I can't find any other news service that matches AJ in the scope of their reporting. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Al Jazeera is great as long as there is nothing currently going on in Israel (which, unfortunately, is less and less often).
